ABC issue????
My ABC sign turned on the other day and today under the CL, I found a pretty large puddle of what seems to be hydrolic fluid. Not sure, but I think it is...
Whats going on with this damn car????

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Patrick,
Prior to finding the puddle of ABC fluid, did the car make any "whining" noises when turing the sterring wheel at low speeds? Kinda lika a bad power steering pump would make. That is usually the sign of the ABC pump going bad.
If that is not the case, then hopefully it's just an ABC hose that's leaking. You then need to fix the hose and flush the system wth new fluid. Avoid running the engine as there is no fluid in the system. That will damage the ABC pump if it's not already damaged. Regardless, this sounds like a mandatory dealer visit.
Good luck.

No... No whining noise at all. Thinking back I did hear kind of a POP noise from under the car a few days ago. Anyway... I too the car to a local machanic friend of mine and he said that I blew a strut on the front drivers side. He has worked on all of my cars and with much better results than I have ever had from a dealership!!!! However he is not familiar with our ABC systems so he is sending me to the dealership on this one... "damn"
But does his diognosis sound correct? would a ruptured strut throw up a ABC sign on the cluster?
Thanks for your reply... I found it very helpful and printed it out to take to the dealer with me.

Corrision resistant ABC high-pressure distribution hoses installed under recall.
Like 3 years ago. Thats an old recall I think.
It could be a strut seal or a hose.
Thats good news at least vs. a Pump Replacement.
As others have said. Thats a Dealer Only type repair.
Keep us informed what it was and how much they soak you for.
if your strut is blown it will leak again when they redo the hose and theyll tell you.
Better than telling them to check the strut, incurring diagnostic charges if just the hose blew.
