hey guys im a newbie here but i am about to purchase a used 2001 cl600, my question is what are the differences made by Mercedes through the years with the design and technology of the car. also i was wondering is there anything i might need to know about the car? (good and bad) thanks in advance!

Run far and fast from a 2001/2002 V-12.
If you buy it make sure the oil pressure sensor has been replaced and not leaking. Make sure that the oil cooler is not leaking or has been replaced.
Also check the ABC suspension and lines. If you can get an extended warranty get one.

2012 S600
I've owned a 2001, 2003 CL600 & a 2004 S600. I had no issues with any of them. I would suggest to get a 2003 or later CL600. The performance difference is HUGE! 496HP versus 363HP. The torque numbers are also off the charts. A warranty is MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so im seeing that everyone is basically telling me to get an 03+ but the thing is the one im getting is hell of a deal.. $18k with 80k miles, and from what i can see nothing is wrong with it. what do you guys think?
