automatic trunk will not function automatically

Happy Sunday guys/girls,
My trunk will not open automatically. It just happened recently. I have to open it manually with my key. I thought it was just locked but I tried unlocking it and using my remote/button to open but it just makes a noise that sounds like its releasing gas pressure. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks,
Reagan

ercedes uses air pressure t do alot thigs in the car sneakily... like lower the rear headrests wth an inflatibe bag that releases lock... SO take her apart and look for a detached air hose....or buy a repair cd from ebay for $15...

My cargo net was getting caught in the latch and created similiar problems.

Had the same problem on the 02 CL500. Took it to my uncle. From what I remember it was the latching mechanism, the thing that when the trunk comes down, it pulls it shut with the help of the vacuum system. The part was like $450 . Small POS plastic part.

I wish I never had this option. Been a headache since day one. I will never opt for it especially on the cars that with the button, pops the trunk all the way like on the E. Keyless go is useless and gave a problem once too. I just love my seat coolers and massage seats though. Use them all the time.

Just noticed your nav disk is stuck? My CD changer just went bad, the CD's get stuck and the unit doesn't read anything. Brand new is $700, but I remember a very rare specialist in the San Fernando Valley that repairs these units for like a couple of hundred. He's been around since Mercedes put CD players in the cars and he's a Benz CD changer specialist.

do you have his contact info? if you do, i'd appreciate it.

as for the automatic trunk, i wish it didnt come with it too. Now, i have to open my trunk with a manual key. instead of an upgrade, its a downgrade.

Unfortunitely I don't. I would have to see if I still have it at my work. Also, idk if he does comand units. All I know is he does CD changers. It's been a long too so idk.
