ABC (car lowering)

My car use to sink in the front right after sitting for a while. After the car sunk I turned the engine on and I pressed the button to raise the car and then I turned the car off. It's been 4 days and the car has not sunk. I tried it on 2 different occasions so far it has worked. Can you guys test it out on your cars and tell if you guys experience the same thing? Anybody know why this is happening?

If the car lowers itself on one side, it is likely a leaky valve block. When the car is turned off, the system goes into a bypass state, closing the return valves. If they don't close properly, ABC fluid is slowly returned back into the system and the car lowers. I have tried this plenty of times as my car lowers a pretty decent amount after a day or so and I get the same result. Maybe you had some blockage on the valve block that's no longer there, now allowing it to close properly when the vehicle is off.

I swear that my CL has a mind of its own.

It used to always sink on the rear left side if I didn't start up my car for 2-3 weeks or more. I had the dealer replace the entire left rear strut assembly with a brand new unit last year under warranty and guess what? It's still doing the frigging same thing, and now the car sinks even faster (2-3 days!)

I've learned to ignore how low the car sits as long as I don't get the warning light on the dashboard.

For the past two years, when my CL stays parked, I always raise the suspension level to the highest level.

HELP me pleeeaaaase!!

Hi everyone, Im having a problem on my 2001 CL600.. when I bought it it had a leaky ABC pump that was completely run without fluid. I have replaced that pump since and the system seems leak free..however, when I start the car..it levels with the back just a little higher than it needs (not the main problem..) but then the front end just goes UP...then down..UP...then down (non-stop). My mechanic bled the system...but cant figure out why its doing this. He did figure out that when he disconnects that sensor clip on top of the strut tower front passanger side beside the motor a funny thing happens...it stops going UP/down and stays stable (but ABC red light comes on). When he tried to repeat the process trying the drivers side sensor it kept going up/down. Any takers?? im not looking in to pouring money in to valve blocks etc.. the pump I just changed killed me as is. Is it a sensor issue, maybe hight sensor etc? Maybe needs another bleeding? Help me please..

I think you're right on target. This appears to be sensor related. Either the height sensors at each front wheel well or the ABC control module needs re-calibration. Either way, you gotta get the car hooked up to Star Diagnostics to check for ABC codes before changing any parts. Good luck

Try resetting the car computer. My CL55 will lower itself if it sits for 14 days. When I start her up the red warning comes up but as soon as I put her into gear she rises red disappears and everything is back to normal.
