Smile '02 CL600 - DVD Viewing Options?

Is there anyway to unlock the factory command headunit in my '02 CL600 so I can watch DVD movies on it?

I read that the US Version does not have a video decoder or something, but maybe there is a way to get around that?

Curiously,
Tom

i would search google and see what you can find there but u will probally half to find an install program that you will half to put on a cd and let it install but i know that in the us your not suppose to be allowed to watch dvd's in the front seats while the car is moving down the road and the parking brake is off... but i have seen the ability to just have the car in park and be able to do it try that and see what works

Seriously?

I wouldn't need some kind of tv tuner kit just to enable my headunit to decode the video signal?

I don't have a euro comand unit...

Regards,
Tom

no you should not(not 100% sure) as long as the head unit states dvd video on it some where then it should play dvds.... but it will probally only play them while the car is in park

I think the 2000 - 2003 S/CL head units were DX, not DVD.

I believe DX means CD based for the folks who aren't familiar.
