CL500 vs S500
hi,
I'm a college student, and I currently own an 2001 S500 with 132k. I love the handling, the smoothness & the attention i get from the ladies! But lately I've have been getting really tired of driving the car around town. I feel like the S500 is just to big. I sometimes feel like I'm driving a limo around lol..60% of the time in the car by myself, the other times its my girlfriend/date or one of my guy pals. So lately I've been thinking about getting a CL500, I found a 2000 CL500 with 130k for 9,800.00 Do you think this would be a wise move? let me know

Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything but college student fees + ABC repairs on an early model CL don't mix.
I had an 04 S500 and man I still dream of that car! The smoothness, the comfort, the room, the big body...
Keep your S500 IMO

The CL is still a big car as well IMO (we have an 02). When I drive, it feels like a big car still (not as big as my previous W140 S420).
Ya, the ABC is what you will have to watch out for more than anything else. It is one h*ll of a fine piece of machinery.
I used to own a 94 S420 and moved to a 2004 E320. I like the fact it is smaller by a good amount and easier to get around with.

actually, with the older lincolns and cadillacs with air suspension, companies created a conversion kit to convert to a conventional system for less problems. However, you cannot (actually nothing is impossible) convert the MB systems (whether airmatic or ABC) since it is all wired into the computers.

When I was in school, about the last car I would have thought about was a Merc.... let alone an 'S' class. I guess a CL is a little more of a younger guy's car. Have fun and be safe!
