Help! Keyless go, just doesn't work?

hi, my CL500 AMG 2005 has another problem.

The keyless go is completely knackered, both keys work eg.unlockdoors/boot and starts car by putting in the ignition thing.

BUT is doesn't work as in 'keyless go' the car wont open by leaving the key in pocket and the car wont start by the gear selector switch basicly its like the car doesn't know any of the keys.

I checked it out at mercedes benz and they said its the whole computer that handles that part and the car just doesn't recognise the keys and would cost £500 just for that part.

does anyone know if theirs anything else that might help it?

check for blown fuse-rear underseat compartment-far right fuse in my cl-55.

also check for door switch stuck in and always on blowing your fuse.

you might have to ask someone at a Benz garage who knows how to deal with stuff like this. just ask them, done take your car in as it could be just a small thing.

hi
i had similiar problem: keyless go not working, even the door did not open using remote buttons...got wrong almost 4 out of 5 times. but once in, usually the gear start button would work, then that stopped working too..though ignition was still working.

I replaced battery...no improvement.
Then idea struck and i found the simple problem and solution: the battery holder was loose!!! so put a small piece of paper to tighten the battery holding and viola .....3rd day and im happy with my keyless go...
BTW i read some post saying put the key in ignition for an hour and it will reprogram itself...i tried that but after 10 minutes realised it is non sense and stopped...(this was before finding the solution above)

Unless something sounds loose or rattling when u shake the fob it should be ok.
Turn your mobile or other camera On and put the fob pointed end under this and press fob button. If U see light in camera fom the fob the fob is probably ok.
Does it work other than keyless go i mean if you just press buttons on fob does it oPen the door?
Btw Did u try tightening the battery holder?

I had exactly the same problem. In the end I found that the key was not linked to the car. I only found this out by using STAR. Through STAR you can marry the two up. Bingo. I now have keyless go.
