Problem with suspension i think... help
I've been experiencing a problem, that when i go into small bumps or even if the road is slightly uneven or wavy the back of the car starts fishtailing or swaying... i took it to the dealer they were not able to find out what the problem was, i took to a independent mercedes technician and they couldn't locate the problem, so i need help...

Exact same suspension issue with our CL?
We are having the same issue. Over small bumps, rumblestrips, manhole covers, it fishtails. Dealer aligned and said could find anything else.
Now looking for answer at independent repair facility. Any feedback would be appreciated. Mike

Has your car had all the Bulletin repairs and is completely up to date? The dealer ca tell you this.
Try another dealer.
Has the Comand or other electronics been flashed or lost their flash because the battery was disconnected for service? Is all the firmware up to date? You need both the Comand and the OBD-II codes.
Try driving the car with the ESP off; change the ABC to Comfort Mode (C) if you have one.
Sometimes the ESP units go wacky and overcompensate for driving.
Do your wheels have the correct offset for the car? I had a similar problem when I changed to Mandrus wheels for winter tires. They are built for the non-AMG offset (3x vs 44m) and caused no end of issues like yours until I bought some used AMG wheels with the proper offset.
Have the dealer do the "rodeo test" on the ABC suspension - required after they do any "rear shock" work - this may diagnose the problem.
Call your local MB or AMG Zone rep.

[QUOTE=Danillano;6362962]Sorry I know this is old but did you ever figure out what the problem was?[/QUOTE
Dealer was never able to diagnois. Had in 5-6 times and had abs issue, replaced rear tires, etc. Last tires we tried were nitto's and were cheaper and had best drive.. better than the michelins.
Awsome car but lot of mechanical issues. Should have never parted with mine as i had fixed everything.. Good luck.

This sort of thing can be caused by the rear strut top bushes becoming detached from the bush mountings. You can see the effect very easily by jacking up the rear of the car so the wheel hangs free. See if the wheel is solidly located, or is it able to move up and down a small amount.

You have a bad valve block allowing the pressure to immediately bleed off. Options are to buy are new or good used one or have yours rebuilt. Depending in mileage, if the car still has its original nitrogen spheres, I'd replace all four of those as well.

I'm beginning to suspect rear control arm bushings. As soon as I'm physically able to, I'm going to jack up the rear and get a pry bar and check my bushings. If you can easily wiggle the control arm with a pry bar then the bushing is bad. I've already replaced the front ones.
