I drove a CL500 with a Brabus exhaust system recently, and I have to admit I was revving the engine just to hear the sound. It sounds amazing on the CL, quiet at cruise, and very mean at full throttle.

Haha, I had it up to whopping 45 miles per hour. With that kind of sound, I just had to amble around on city streets and listen to the sound echo off buildings. Simply awesome. Punk kids in Camaros and Mustangs certainly heard it too.

I drove that 2000 CL500 with the Brabus exhaust again today, the owner brought it in for wiper inserts and a "Oil level high" warning intermittently coming on. After I was done fixing it, I took it out for a road test. My God, I am in love with that exhaust sound. If that car doesn't turn enough heads with its styling, it sure grabs the attention with it's chrome dual Brabus outlets and it's mean, burbling, throaty exhaust note!

I have a 2000 CL500 and I have located a used Brabus Exhaust and I am considering purchasing it. I have gone online and listened to the exhaust on other CL's and like many of you, loved every note of it, but my question is what is the advantage in horse power that I should see once it is mounted.

I purchased the BRABUS Exhaust and had it installed and I am so glad that I did!
The sound is like a low roar and will sneak up on you and bite you in the tail!!!! I am experiencing an increase in HP and gas mileage, and the chrome tips look very aggressive! I highly recommend adding this exhaust.![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

You'd like the CL55 rumble w/ the Eisenmann mufflers
I really miss my Bloomington days, College out there was like a 4 year weekend haha.
You are right though, Brabus makes a great sounding exhaust, I've got a full one w/ their high flow mid section and sounds real tough on the 350 motor.

Not raspy or ricey at all. Do 215 500's come w/ a manual mode and/or paddle shift?
If they do and you know how to use them (I'm sure you do) you can really make the exhaust sing nicely.
I love to do it w/ both the CL and the Brabus E, the 500 unfortunately is pretty quiet until you really get on it. I'm sure an exhaust would wake that V8 up nicely also.

Or . . . . just replace the resonators with straight tubes! This is not the same kind of sound for sure, but just shows how much variation there can be between the last post and this post
