HELP 2004 Cl500 Trans problem
Hey My 2004 C500 with 26k miles on it is having some problems..
1st of all this has happened twice, the car would get stuck in 2nd gear In D Mode and not shift at all, it would go past Redline.
The 2nd problem is at high Rpms near 5-6 there is a loud whine sound before the car shifts gears..
Has anyone had any problems like these, the car is CPO so hopefully it will all be covered if there is a problem
Thanks

For anybody else out of warranty with this kind of issue, this is the valve body and conductor plate sold as a single unit. A broken spring in the valve body causes the issues mentioned above.
Never dealt with this company before, but seems like a cost effective option:

This can be found when you drop the transmission pan. The transmission filter hangs off of the valve body. The picture you see faces up towards the cabin. The top left is the infamous plug adapter that that has leaky O rings.

Not sure as each car should be looked at case by case. Also, it would be prudent to check the transmission with a Star SDS system for specific codes before forking out any cash for parts. Good luck!

when did you do a filter and fluid change?

you need to know for sure when fluid was changed. burnt, dirty fluid could cause problems. at the least check the fluid color to make sure it's a nice red color.
