Hood Emblem Options?

Hi Guys,

I currently drive an 02 CL500. I would like to change out the faded stock blue/white laurel circle for something a bit funkier like a black AMG. The problem is, there seems to be nothing available to fit this particular car. Does anyone know of a source for these? Also, how hard is it to switch them out? I believe the hood latch must be removed first. Yes?

Many thanks for any and all help...

eBay. Never tried on a CL, but on most MB you open the hood, twist the mechanism underneath, and it lifts out. 5 minute job. Check how your new one reinstalls. Some you have to jury rig.

I've been looking for the same thing for the past 3 weeks EVERYDAY now. I'm starting to think that nobody makes these for the w215's...or the w209's or the R230's.

It's not that hard to switch them out either. All the other MB's have to do what the poster above said.

I'm not sure if this is the correct and safe way to do it, but all I did was unscrew the latch, attached by 3 bolts. Then grab a small screwdriver, pointed it up under the hood, and give it a slight push. The emblem popped right out with some caution
