Abc fluid level/hoses question

Can anyone post pix of the "correct" fluid level for the abc reservoir? I was told by the dealer it's supposed to be between the two hash marks but when I put it literally in-between the fluid gets splattered everywhere and my ride doesn't feel as tight. Also I called a hydraulic specialty company that told me they can build me better hoses for the car but they need a model to go off does anybody know where I can get the specs for the hoses on our cars?

I keep mine between just like you posted.

As for the hoses, no idea. But that sounds like a decent idea if they can actually improve on it.

I have mine at the higher mark with the lowest setting. No spitting of fluid ... yet.

nope. I've even had mine overfilled and no spitting. Does it spit out of the cap? Maybe your rubber cap is worn/torn.

To get ABC hoses done by a hydraulic specialist you remove the ones on your car and bring them to the hydraulic shop and ask them to duplicate them. There is one that you should use the MBZ hose, check post #23 in this link

I am a firm believer in this opinion. All of the hoses will fail. Get them replaced with a higher quality one before they burst/leak.

Question

I too am trying to achieve the correct ABC fluid level in my '04 CL500. There are "offsets" on either side of the dipstick. The stick itself reads "motor an (engine running) & motor aus (engine off)". Shouldn't the fluid level be within one of these offsets (depending on whether the car is running or not)?, as opposed to "between" them- I would think "between" would be wrong on either side? please advise

OK just called the dealer the fluid level should be WITHIN one of the notches on the dipstick, depending on whether the vehicle is running or not. If it's BETWEEN the notches while the car's running it's too low.

The dealer also told me the fluid expands as it heats up. If yours is between the marks while cold it's overfull- it should not be above the bottom cutout unless hot.

Scratch that! The fluid should read within the LOWER range while the car is running.

here's a pic of which dipstick to pull http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w215...intenance.html
once you pull the correct dipstick there are 2 notches cut into it- the fluid should read within the range of the lower notch while the motor is running. I think they recommend driving it at least 5 mins first.
