FWIW, my '02 CL500 drops on the left front after a few days. Actually, I think the drop starts immediately after shutdown in very small increments to where you cannot get a finger in between the tire and fender after about 10 days. In other words, the drop is over time. Again, only the left front drops. It didn't do this until after about 20K miles. MB replaced the front valve and flushed the system to no avail.
In any event, upon starting the car, it raises to its normal level after putting it in gear but interestingly, not until my foot is taken of the break and the car starts to move.

hey Jud, my '04 CL500 does the same thing. the MB tech stated there was "wetness" around the left front shock, that it may be seeping ABC fluid. when I checked the reservoir it was nearly a liter low. I'm sure you know this, but it's important to keep your fluid topped off.

Thanks for the info. I do watch the reservoir level to ensure it's up to snuff. What I also do is suck about a liter of the fluid out and replace it with new about every six months or so. I also replaced the filter a while back which I will do again in the near future.

I had an MB tech suggest this to me in lieu of flushing the system which is quite expensive. Whether this does any good or not, I don't know. I did also talk to an MB shop foreman about this and he said he wouldn't touch the fluid until work was required on the system. Who knows? Anyway, I personally think it makes sense to keep the fluid clean. As it is now, the color of mine is almost like that of new fluid.

They have also changed the filter, if so you can tell me how to change, try it once but for fear of not knowing will not change.
Best Regards.

The filter is attached to the bottom of the screw-on cap on the reservoir. It is held in place by a spring hook with the hook attaching to the cap. Once the cap is removed, push up on the bottom of the filter and this will allow you to work the hook out of the cap. Then remove the old filter from the spring hook and install the new one. Then attach the hook to the reservoir cap. Be absolutely certain to keep everything very clean including your hands when handling the filter. You do not want to introduce any foreign matter into the system.

If you work on your CL, you really should have the MB manual library DVD for it. These are available from MB by calling 1-800-for-merc. The DVD runs about $100 and is excellent. Since you did not fill out your profile, I don't know where you live as you may live outside the US. If you can't get it, PM or email me and I'll get you a copy.

Hi Jud, my car is still brand new, so just needed to know if I needed to do any oil/filter changes, the baby has been standing more than driving, but when I take her out for a few hours or so, she is just blissfull, heaven on earth. I love this car more then an S65 W221 2007 I had brand new a few years ago. will keep you posted. Our MB guys are the same here about doing anything to the cars, its just plain dumb and stupid. Oil and moving parts Duh! What i so hard to figure. Thanks mate

Whether you drive the car much or not, I personally would change the engine oil and filter at least once a year. Use Mobil 1 0W-40 and you'll be fine.

So my car has the same problem with the height, my left sits 1 inch higher than the right side. I do not see any leaks, i get an abc warning visit shop everytime i drive.
What steps should i take?

If one whole side is substantially down and doesn't raise back up, your valve block for that side is most likely shot.
