02 CL500 AMG, No climate control or radio HELP

Hi, i recently purchased a 2002 CL500 AMG..

I got it as a R title recovered theft..

The radio or navigation will not turn on or light up.

Climate control unit will not light up and does not work

Everything else seems to work fine, except for my Radio/navi and climate control unit ....

Something seems to be missing in the trunk on the driver side, i see a few plugs hanging there like there was a AMP or some kind of a brain unit, and under the rear PASS seat there is another Brain or controller missing, can anyone tell me what was removed from the car????

#1: If the BOSE amp is removed will the radio not light up at all????

#2: And is there a brain box for the climate control ??

Any help would be appreciated!!

thanks

Was the car having all these problems when you first test drove it?

There's an amp, PSE, and some other components back there. They have orange fiber connecting most of them. When that gets unplugged, stuff stops working. Pull the console and check behind the radio and climate control to make sure they're plugged in. Then you'll need to address what's unplugged in the trunk.

Removing the console:

My '04 CL500 has the (DVD) nav mounted in the trunk on the drivers side. I'm guessing if this was removed it would cause some problems with COMAND. Oh yeah, the CD changer's there too!

I had an issue with stick stuck in park, after I removed center console and did the repair on shifter box, my sound dissapeared and heater controler stopped working. I took the cc out again to check if I missed any plugs, but everything is plugged. I cant find the issue. Anybody know of the solution?

I checked 3 fuse boxes: 2 under the hood on right and left, and one under the right rear seat. All fuses in these 3 fuse boxes are fine. I am trying to find out the cockpit fuses, but unsuccessfully. Anyone has an exact location of cockpit fusebox?

Fuses #78-86 are located in the passenger side dash. Open the passenger door and remove the cover on the side of the dash.
78= me sfi, eis, column, alarm horn
79= cluster
80= upper control panel
81= data link connector
82= aac control and operating unit, heating system delivery
83= central gateway unit
84= cluster, data link
85= cluster
86= front cigar lighter/ashtray light

Myself along with a few others have had the issue of no audio and no climate controls. Personally my issue started after removing my shifter (both at a shop and home). I figured the loss in power and audio was due to the battery jump I attempted.

Fast forward 3 weeks. Yesterday I decided to miss around and figure out where 2 cords belonged. In that process I did the following:

Checked all fuses (10amp blown behind radio)
Removed the center dash (radio, change tray,etc)

I found that the idiots who "attempted" to fix my shifter at the shop attached the wire for the a/c unit and radio in the wrong spot. They look exactly the same. HOWEVER, the CCU wire is solo and the radio wire has a 2nd wire attached.

After switching wires the CCU got power and ac came on and my radio was blasting 😊.

I think I have the same problem - unsure because I bought the car this way. The wires you are talking about are they behind the console where the CCU and Radio are? When they worked on the shifter did they remove the bezel with the radio and CCU and when they reconnected them- is when they plugged in the wrong wires? Also when you say solo and second wire do you mean where it comes out of the harness. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. This post goes back almost 4 years - hope you are still online and doing well. Thank you

I posted it here because s500queen had the same exact problem. I was hoping to get some more feedback on what is happening and how to fix it.

check the terminal fuses, theres 2 terminal fuse boxes. One is under the passenger side foot rest so pull up the carpet and unscrew the metal plate. You will some positive cables connected to it that is the terminal box. Remove it and open it up inside there are a few fuses. The second terminal fuse box is in the trunk next to the battery you have to remove the panels to get access. dont forget to disconnect the battery first.

If i remember correctly that fixed the problem

There will usually be more problems than this if one of those big prefuses blows
