don't believe everything you read about the maintenance- I've owned my CL500 for 3 years now, drive it (almost) every day and my only maintenance has been brakes, oil changes & 2 tires. How many cars can you say THAT about? Enjoy...

Relative newbie to these forums, but not to the CL. Bought an 02 CL500 in 2008 which now has 142K. Replaced the ABC pump in 09 and recently fixed some wiring issues in the driver door (drivers side window not going all the way up etc), but no other major issues.

Very nice! Both of the above are very common, and to only have those issues is great! Continue to enjoy it!

ABC issues and 3 oil leaks within the last couple of years. It's been terrific otherwise.

You guys give me hope. Two weeks ago I got an '01 CL500. I have a bunch of things to fix and they all scare the hell outta me......The ride is so sweet though, and the luxury is amazing.

This is my first day on this site.

Items I need to fix:
Right rear window regulator
Trunk lifting mechanism
Remove the dead wasp nest from inside the driver's mirror and hopefully my warning light goes off and the blinker doesn't act like it's on meth
Replace glove box latch
Locate and repair window washer reservoir leak.
And of course, deal with the damn, intermittent ABS light (which was "fixed" with new hydrallic lines by the dealer less than 300 miles ago - to LOOK at it, they wanted $185)
.....it also needs a solid cleaning and protecting.....I'll post a pic when I'm done.

Any tips one the above would be great! Thanks!

My 2005 cl55 has100k miles and runs as well as when I bought it 10 years ago. Never any problems other than typical maintenance.

I got about roughly over 20k in maintenance in it i jus changed the interior from grey to black put new 20" chrome wheels on it along with a custom exhaust that sounds amazing i've changed/replaced everything that can possibly go wrong on these cars lol the list is a novel But i love that car lol wudnt trade it for the world!

ABC fixed with flush, filter, and Rodeo calibration. Aircon system replaced. Driver's door wiring replaced. Glovebox catch replaced. Otherwise a beautiful grand tourer.
