Brakes
I replaced the pads and rotors but my brakes keep making noices. when i step on the brake they disappear, also when i wash the car and rinse the brakes it stops for a while and then it comes back. my friend has a CL500 also and never washes it but his brakes never make noice. any idea of what might be causing this?

What sort of noise?
Is it a squeeling, drumming, grating or what? Is there any vibration.
How old are the brakes, and what sort of condition do they look in?
Would you say that you drive fast or slow, regularly or infrequently?

the Mercedes pads are noisy I switched pads- don't remember what I used (my mechanic ordered them) but once I used other pads problem solved. buy good aftermarket pads and it should quiet down. maybe ask your friend what he uses?

bo behind the rotor is half plate, bend or push it toward the engine, then you should be fine.
the plate is just a protector from rock.
sometime when people do a brake job it is a common that people hit with a tools and shift the plate
use EBC pads the red stuff
rotor aftermarket slot and drill should be ok

The cross-drill holes will be corroded and caked-up with pad dust, and the rotor sufaces may have shallow circumferential groves, but they should be smooth. There should also be a small lip round the edge of the rotor, depending on miles.
If not, you might want to get new rotors. They shouldn't be too expensive these days.
