I'm trying to decide between the two cars. I was leaning toward the CL600 since it was a two door and lighter. But it seems from the specs I looked up that it wasn't in fact lighter. In which case having the extra room and doors seems nice. I do admit the CL looks sportier than the S but the actual performance I care more about than the looks. I'm looking for a car to drive to work during the week and smoke by buddies on the drag strip on the weekend. Are there any major differences between the two I need to be considering before I decide. Any thoughts welcome.

My info shows that the weight is very close.

CL600 - 4574 lbs
S600 - 4610 lbs

So, besides the slight weight differences are there other differeces in the two cars besides the obvious extra door and rear seat room?

Not much. It really comes down to what you plan to use the vehicle for and aesthetics.

The trunks are the same. The length is almost the same.

Its a bit like the S600 vs S65 argument. Whether you're talking about the S65 or the CL600, they're both more desirable than the S600, but the latter is always so much cheaper to buy......
