2000 cl500
New user. Question about 2000 cl500 audio
Hope someone can help me. This has been a very helpful forum already. Bed I thank everyone for there knowledge.
I have a 2000 cl500. I have no sound. I've read up on the fiber optic ring. I bought a fiber optic coupler from the stealer. Question is.
1. My volume control does not go up or down but all other buttons work.
2. Is the volume control tied in with amp? Because I think amp is bad.
3. Cd changer not recognized until I bypass amp. So it gives me reason to believe amp is bad as stated previous. Checked fuse 66 and 61
Thanks for the help. Justin

biker349: There is Fiber optic from -00.
Justin Winter: On my CL -00 the sound stoped to work, and I had to lift the rear passenger (Right side) seat, and unplug and plug in a fiber optic cable there. Worked for me, hope it helps you =)
Best Regards

MBWorld Fanatic!
come to think of it i think your car will specifically tell you what part of the fiber ring is out of sync
hold "mute" "1" and "3" simultaneously to bring up the diagnostics menu, you can check the status of your fiber optic ring as well as reset/wake up the system. and my w215 is an 02

Score on this feedback for the mute 1 3 code, I ended up finding my CD Changer in the trunk was corroded, who uses cds anymore? anyway, i just unplugged it and got a fiber ring couple for $12.50 at the dealership and the sound came on instantly, sweet! no more silence!!!
