Satelite antenna placement 2002 CL

Any ideas for Sirius antenna placement that is NOT on the exterior surface of the car?

The metallic windows restrict the signal.

You can pull the panel off the inside of the trunk lid and mount the antenna there. The trunk is plastic and the signal will pass just fine.

Alternatively, if the antenna is a micro one you can mount inside the fresh air vent on the hood.

That may fit. Micro is usually about 1.25x1.25"

OE/Factory placement is still under the rear trunk lid.

Any ideas on the route for the wire through the firewall? Mercs have extremely sealed firewalls.

You can feed it in through the right side fuse/relay box. This will route into the vehicle just behind the glove compartment. You will see the area if you remove the glove compartment.

Thanks. I ended up installing it under the trunk lid. Composite trunk no interference. Works great!
