CL Sale

Just sold my '02 CL500 after 9 years. For sure I'll miss it but getting too old for this s... (maintenance). I have some parts for sale that I've accumulated over the years and have listed them in the classifieds. Thanks for the help over the years.

Traded the '02 CL for an '11 Lexus LS460. Supposedly these cars require n nothing but routine maintenance. We'll see.

Congrats on the new car. Those are beautiful these CL's are gorgeous cars and amazing all around but require a lot of "attention" still amazes me every time I drive my dad's 02 500. The car was literally (and still is imho) out of this world and so advanced in many ways. The styling is also impeccable. Just wish they already had the 550 engine back then hehe

Actually they did. It was called the CL 55 AMG. The 5.5 Litre V-8 engine produced more horses also, in 2002-3 than the '08 CLK 550, where it was around 500HP due to the supercharging.

Before then the CL 55 AMG F1 was extremely rare, but by the mid 2000's the 5.5 Litre V-8 engine was quite available. Just saying.

Lol yes you are technically correct. Supercharged version didn't come out till MY03 here in the states. So technically the old N/A 55 (00 - 02) were the 550's in a way but with: less power, 5.4L vs 5.5L, 3 instead of 4 valves per cylinder, SOHC vs DOHC. I just meant I wish they had come out with the 550 as the base engine back then. Or after the 55 Kompressor came out in MY03, they should have used the N/A 55 engine as the base 500 engine
