Buying Tips for the W215 Cars
I am interested in the W215 Cars but I was wondering what major problem areas that one should know about before getting into one. I know that the ABC hydraulic shocks are a big issue when you get miles on these cars. What are some other hot buttons?
Thanks,
Mark

Abc by far is the biggest problem
The 600 has coil pack failures $1500 each side
All CL have the transmission conductor plate issue , shifter stuck in park issue, crank position sensor issue , electronic accelerator pedal issue , etc, but those are not huge $$$ like abc

ABC problems can be minimised by changing the oil and filter every two or three years, and replacing the flexible hoses when the swaged joints start to seep.
I've had three ABC-equipped cars, and I wouldn't even THINK about changing it for coil-overs.

It looks like if you are looking at these cars the best way is to pay a little extra for a lower mileage, one owner, car to get in early on maintaining that system.
