ABC problems

Hi, Can anyone help? MB CL 500 04 facelift.
The rear axle started to make a banging noise rather like a loose bolt in the spare wheel well over slow bumps but not on the motorway. The rear wheel arches seemed to be down along with ABC light saying go to workshop.during this time the car also felt as if there was no soft spring effect but a hard landing on coming off a bump such as a sleeping policeman.
The indy tried various things and did the following:
1. Changed the bushes on the rear sub-frame but noise persisted.
2.Changed the rear strut on the right ( uk drivers side).
3. Changed the rear accumulator.
Now the car rides high, in spite of running diagnostics and carrying out the rodeo reset and test.
The car feels as if it is on a hard setting just as it feels as if driving with the "high" position set on the dash switch.
Using the switch raises the rear a little and the front a bit more.
Any ideas as to what I need to do next? I have noted the forums where the ride height is gradually reduced using star diagnostics.
Many thanks.

I would inspect the small ride height sensors connected by rods to each lower transverse suspension arm.

Thank you. I will ask the garage to check this and get back to you.

Hi all,
Thank you for your help. Got under the car and found that the sensor on the left had turned around and the rod was on the outside of the sensor i.e away from the centre line and that on the right was towards the centre line.
Disconnecting it showed that the bolt had reacted with the metal insert to the extent that the sensor housing was split. Therefore needed a new sensor and the ride height is OK. We assume that when the rear bushes were changed, the subframe was dropped and when lifted again, the rod turned the sensor past the midline.
I did not think of photographing it.
As for star, it did show a value of 33 on the Left and -07 on the right.
Once again thank you for all your help.
