Pictures are worth a thousand words, but they lie. It's like walking into an expensive restaurant. The decor may be beautiful, they may require you to wear a tie, but if the chef doesn't care or is under qualified, your food will suck. NP Biker, I'll let you know when I get it worked out.

So far the suspension is fine and a place an hour away I drove to last night, and then back this morning, no problems.

Also, the owner called me and left a message saying he thinks he found my pump, not sure why someone said it was thrown away.... after I did the Amex chargeback.

Does anyone know how long that takes? Not even sure if I chose the right category, so many of them.

Hopefully I included enough info, not a lot of allowed characters to type the whole story, forgot to say they threw the pump away.

What are my chances of them reversing it? Do I even have a shot against a business that big?

Also, should I pay my credit card now or wait until this is over? I usually pay it off every month. Never chargeback anything before so not sure what happens if I pay it off and they reverse it.

Amex is good about siding with the customer

The shop likely doesn't know about the chargeback yet so try to get your old pump back ASAP before they are contacted

Do not pay the disputed amount , amex will issue a temporary credit for it anyway while they investigate

Amex may ask you for a second opinion from another mechanic

i would also call customer service and ask about disputes. explain the situation and that you file a complaint. let them check and verify to you what to do about payment etc.

Update: Pump failed again. Pulled out of the driveway 5 mins ago. Screeching noise, smoke, hard to turn. Leak.

;( I cant afford this anymore.

Just going to trade it.

Unless anyone here in Michigan knows what their doing their self and would want to buy it.

Damn...

Here's an option. Buy a used airmaticW220, not an Active Body Control one, (S-Class) power steering pump and a Strutmasters conversion and drive the car worry free.

there is a problem either with the installation of the pump, the pump itself, or something else in the abc system. i would take fireman685"s advice and get a coil system, but i wouldn't let that shop do it. you can sell your old struts to arnott for $100 each and maybe get back the core charge for all the pumps you have. probably save you $500-$600 on the replacement. it's really odd that 2 rebuilt pumps failed basically immediately.
anyone have experience with these rebuilt cardone pumps?
