What is the part number of the recalled ABC hose ?

Most of us know there was a recall in 2004 and 2007 for the replacement of abc hose

Recall number 04V228000
And 07V263000

However the part number of the hose that is recalled is not listed in the nhtsa recall bulletin or anything I can find online

Can anyone tell me what the actual Mercedes part number of the recalled /replacement hose is that was involved in this recall? Thanks

Tusabes, do you mean the second section of the feed pipe that goes from the pump to the pressure relief valve / accumulator?

By second section, I mean the section that runs along the side of the engine, and NOT the bit that runs across the front of the engine?

I don't know which hose it is , that's why I'm hoping a mb tech or someone who had the recall done can post the hose part number for recall campaign 04V228000 and 07V263000

http://www.intellichoice.com/1-12-20...e-recalls.html

http://repairpal.com/recall/07V263000

I ask because I just had to pay my mechanic to replace an abc hose and was wondering if that part number was recalled in either campaign

My mb dealer tells me all recall work was done but it may have failed again and I think recalls allow for lifetime repairs

Your sources that state the risk is fluid leaking onto the catalysts, so that narrows it down to three pipes/hoses under the bell housing.

I think its also well-known that the pump output pipe under the engine was replaced.

Therefore I think that narrows it down to the pipe I described.

Regards,

Nick

PS. I just had my V12TT trouble child MoT'd. That's the annual UK roadworthiness test, and strikes fear into the heart of owners of all old cars. This time last year I had just rebuilt my turbos, and was terrified that it wouldn't pass the emissions test, or it would overheat, or something like that. I shouldn't have worried so much last year, as I only failed on the parking brake, but it sailed through yesterday. Feels like I'm in control of my car at last.

FYI, I'm just about to replace the jubilee clips on the turbo outlet hoses with T-bolt clamps. I suspect that higher boost levels (and age) are causing occasional boost leaks, which cause immediate limp-home mode. Hoping to put a stop to that today. I have three different clips/clamps: the OEM jubilee clip (9mm wide / 26g), the Mikalor 63-68 clamp (20mm / 75g) and a generic t-bolt clamp (24mm / 174g). The latter both cost about £1.93 each, but the generic clamp is much more substantial (and difficult to fit).

Mine was replaced by the recall and then by me. Unfortunately, I believe they may have just put another faulty hose on it when recalled. Same thing is happening with the E55 gas tanks. They are replacing it with ones that will just fail again.
