Electric Gremlins
HI everyone,
New to forum. I have a 2002 CL500 just shy of 120,000 miles. Recently the radio stopped working and was replaced by static. Even with the radio turned off and the key removed, there was still static. This morning the static was replaced by a machinegun sound at high volume. There has been a drain on the battery and it will kill it in a little less than 48 hours. Fearing some kind of electrical fire, I've been disconnecting the battery.

Had it been raining ? You may have water damage in your trunk , take off the panels and check . I had $6500 damage and had the same radio problem
