Catalytic converters

Hello my fellow CL's,
I think I have the beginning of a cat getting bad I'm getting the rotten egg smell just a real little smell right now.
I had recently used gas from a gas station I never use and I have read online that bad gas or not as good of a quality of gas can cause exhaust smells similar to a bad cat, it will give off a sulfur like smell similar to the rotten eggs typical smell.
So I have a few questions: (1) do you agree or disagree with the bad gas quality causing the issues? (2) Is there a way the clean the catalytic converters before they get bad and clog up, I have read and looked up about catalytic converter cleaners like Cata-cleaner, Lucas oil cat and exhaust cleaner or any of the other products that would be the best to use if they help. (3) Is there a way for myself to check to see which cat may be bad or going bad? (4) Finally where can I get the very best price on cats, if they turn out to be the problem, where it won't cost me the farm.
thanks to all that post.

Replace with some 200 cell metal cats and be done. They will give better performance than stock.
