Its likely the way to go as the older these cars get, the more difficult they will be to keep on the road.

Took me too long to find a used door lock actuator that actually worked. Parts like that, not being available, will make these cars undriveable shortly.
Well I just thought I'd tell you my experience after going through this a few years ago before the mods come in to tell you that you are insane if you get rid of the ABC.

I can relate to the door lock actuator problem and had some luck fixing the passenger side using a repair kit. However, there was still some issues with the soft close not working quite right. Mercedes is doing a disservice by not having replacement parts available and I let them know about it when I went through something similar with another car.

Not to totally derail this thread but:

How can Mercedes NOT support their flagship models!?

I've reached out to the Classic Center, "Your car is too new". I've reached out to MBUSA, "your car is too old". I've reached out to Brabus and Renntech, "those parts are supported by the manufacturer".

I've dropped a decent amount of $$$ in my car in the past two years. I do not want to sell but I cannot see how I can keep it on the road if I cant lock it lol... Heaven forbid I need some mechanical part thats NLA.
