You too could help me here

they keys show up in DAS on track 5

the issue I have now is that the key only opens the car by infra red
and starts the car by insert

why ? easy !
I totally omit that the USA, Japanese and Rest of the world frequencies are different for these 3 territories
both, RF remote buttons and Keyless Go frequencies

how to solve this ? simple:

I need to find out what switches the frequencies ....

it is not module hardware dependent i guessed, because there is no difference on ANY numbers on the modules between USA and German bought

so is it firmware dependent ?
some DAS setting dependent ?
a mudule I missed dependent ?

So I guess that not many can help me but you never know

but.. here the Mercedes dealers are really ********s, they won't help !

If any of you could go to a nice and clever dealer you know and ask that question for me

So, "what switches the IR and Keyless Go frequency from USA to REST OF THE WORLD"

after this I'll make a DY explaining step by step how to convert and program with DAS

thx !

Many thanks for the detailed information. Great job!

Would it work for c215 2001 pre-facelift model?
and is it possible to order A2307660106 for a car before 2003?

My car was made in Dec 10 2000.
I have 1 KG card(A 215 766 00 06) & 1 non-KG key fob now.

Before ordering a key, I want to make sure I understand correctly.
  1. There are 2 KG tracks available, and they must/can be assigned between track 1~5.
  2. A coded key has its target track, and It won't be changed later.
  3. So, before ordering a key, it is necessary to find which track is free between 1~5.
And should order to that free track.
Tracks between 6~8 cannot be used as KG key track. Again, it must be 1~5!!
  4. In most cases, track 1~4 are assigned
because A new car is delivered with 2 remote keys and 2 KG cards.
So if no additional key has been ordered, track 5 would probably be free.
  5. But if there is no free track from 1 to 5 for some reason,
I must go to MB Dealer or good locksmith having Arbrites or Xhorse
to get (at least)one free track.
  6. Besides, if I want to add 2 new KG keys, get (at least)two free tracks between 1~5.
  7. And order key to that free tracks.
Any misunderstanding?

2 years and 30k miles later, this mod is still working just fine on my w220

Upgrade the keyless go module, and get the black KeylessGo key from an MB dealer with the right part #

Thank you BenzNinja. Legend.

PS: In case it helps anyone. My new KG key didn't work at first after ordering from the dealer, it would show 'Computing Data' in the cluster endlessly when inserted. I locked myself in the car with the regular non KG key (press lock button with all doors closed). Then inserted the new KG key in ignition, left it for a few moments, and sure enough it started working afterwards, like a charm. Albeit my key was assigned to track #8 by the dealer, so I had to assign keyless go "card" to track #8 on Star Diagnostic. This was the only way I got it to work after much perseverance. It refused to work at all before all this was done. Sure was a bit fiddly, but all is good to this day ever since.

Keyless go only works for one of my fobs?

Fobs are for 2013 SL500. All keyless go functions work for one of the fobs. The other is used as back up it has no keyless go functions however it opens and closes via the buttons and starts car when inserted I to ignition slot. Is this a transmitter failure or programming issue?
Thanks for your time

simply one key is not keyless go or not assigned to one of the two keyless go slots
must be done in Xentry

According to independent shop the subject fob does not provide keyles go function because it is not communicating. What would be a suitable replacement fob that would provide keyless go my 2013 SL55?. Xhorse has one that they say works (there is a frequency change via a link on the pc board).

Hey folks, looking to get some insight.

I have an 03 S55.
I updated the trunk KG module.
The car has three KG keys - 2 Black, and 1 Chrome.
Keys 1 and 2 are the black (assigned to tracks 1 and 2 respectively). Key 6 is the chrome.

My car does not recognize any of them for KG. I can’t enter the doors or use the push to start button. They do unlock/lock the car with the buttons on the keys. And they do all start the car via the ignition.

I know 6 (chrome) won’t work on tracks 1 or 2 because KG only works on Keys 1-5. But why would my 2 Black (Keys 1 and 2) not work?

I tried doing the location test, the antenna does not pick up or locate any of the keys. My command radio works, and I tried even starting the car with the three keys next to the antenna in case it was weak. No luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

How much did your new key fobs cost? My dealership here won't order the keys for me.

Hello,

My local dealer want to charge for key and programming 880eur (ridiculous price)

Would it be possible somehow to avoid this pay and buy key from ebay and somehow program by yourself or change only NEC and would work?

P.S I have only one key so don't want to **** this, hahaha, if someone needs to be taken from the old key.

Also later where I can change key chanel? (through DAS program by myself? )

Looking forward for help guys. Thank you!

1 = normal price for a key is +- 300 so just call other dealers
2 = locksmith can make you keys, they will need your EIS for read transfer chip = NO
3 = no you can NOT you can only change the Keyless go channel ONLY keys made for EIS slot 1-5 will work for keyless go if you have none of the free = NO keyless go ever
