Does this look like normal operating temp

hey guys, so since I got the cluster repaired I've noticed the operating temp looks kind of high. Ironically, it never bothered me before because the cluster was completely blacked out. On the highway, the temp gets much lower. But sitting in traffic the temp is where you see it. I had this prob in a 740i I had and shortly after I had a waterpump failure. The indy suggested i wait for the pump to show sighs of failure rather than just swapping it out now. What are your thoughts?

that is perfectly normal
these cars have a 95 degree Celsius thermostat and that's right where you are at .

Yeah unlike most cars these don't sit at "just below half". They heat up to 95C until the fan comes on, or if you're on the highway they will cool down to about 80-85 until the thermostat closes back down. It's odd but they are all like that.

That's great to hear. I'll just do the idle pulley, tensioner and serp belt. I was thinking about doing fluid/filter change on the ABC. Can I have this done and any shop or a specialty shop?

You should do a fluid filter change on both the abc and power steering , they have separate filters and separate reservoirs next to each other

use pentosin chf11s fluid

any shop can do it but they should be familiar with the abc system - don't let it be the first abc flush they've ever done

How much should I expect to pay for the abc fluid change? If you guys have any recommendations for an indy, I'm totally open to it.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I also seem to have the same issue presented above, the heater gauge indicator is in the exact same place as the picture shown above but when I read the temperature from the a/c diagnostics screen it reads 101-103 C in hot day weather and at night it reads around 98C, I know that the normal operating temp of this engine is ranger from 80-95C and I recently just changed the coolant and still shows the same temperature plus the heater blows not so hot air into the cabin when on, just above warm like kinda hot, not HOT. So I was wondering if someone could point me to what direction should I start investigating, I will start by changing the coolant temp sensor and see what happens.

Thank you
