W215 CL500 2003
New W215 Owner with questions

Hello everybody I have just purchased a 2003 CL500 at a very cheap price. I used to own a W210 and R129 and my dad has a W221 but this is my first foray into the Benz world after a very long hiatus. I do have a few things that need to be sorted out with the car first

1-Radiatior fan seems to not work on it's intended cycles. I've replaced the fan with two others and both have not worked as intended which forced me to wire the fan directly via a relay and a fuse. I was told this was not very safe for the car and the electrician told me there might be a problem with the control board.

2-I get a "SEAT BACK NOT SECURED" error message on both seats and the electric motor that extends the seat forward when the handle is pulled doesn't work as programmed. Could there be a wire amiss behind the seats?

3-Parking Brake handle broke after I yanked it out is there any fix for the handle?

4-Driver door does not lock and is not exactly flush with the body lines, in fact the whole soft close system doesn't work and I haven't figured out yet where to start. I know I'll have to take it to a body shop to fix the whole door not being flush but what else should I do?

There are a few things planned for the car such as coding out the ABC, replacing the dead head unit, and doing a proper coil over suspension conversion but the radiator fan is bothering me the most so any assistance would be much appreciated

Thanks and Regards

Given your location, a fault with the soft close may be due to dirt. That stuff out there gets into absolutely everything, it's like flour.
