that does not sound good. I would have a mechanic use a mechanics stethoscope to track it down.

my first guess would be pulleys or belt tensioners. But it could be an internal pump or engine noise , need to pinpoint with the stethoscope

Hey Tusabes, I did the tensioner, pulley, and belt last week and thought the same thing. But the noise is still there. I also suspect the transmission. I found a little pink fluid under the right side. But a very small amount. I need to check on one more occasion to see if it's in the same spot. It may not have been from my car. The trans position doesn't show up on the cluster either.

pink fluid ?
don't know about your problem but pinks fluid is wrong
you must only use the blue cooling fluid approved by MB (you don't need to buy it from MB)
I know that in the USA people like to use distilled water and adding crap additives but that is wrong

So I checked under the car yesterday and didn't find it. So I think that was from another car. I think I'll slip a piece of cardboard under it tonight and see what happens. Then I'll be able to tell for sure. I had my AC checked yesterday. The refrigerant was too low. He told he checked with dye and saw no leaking with Uv light. I asked him to check the ABC/power steering fluid and he also said it checked out. And didn't need topping off. And also thought it looked pretty clean.

from what i've read the pink coolant is only for the newer cars. it is not designed for cars up to 2006, possibly newer maybe even up to 2012.

I found the same sound on YouTube. It's not a definitive answer, but I'm certain it's the same sound. So it's a start. I can't wait to hear what you guys think.

I suspected it may be a pump noise but you need to use a Mechanics stethoscope and stop guessing or watching videos as they will not pinpoint it
