Hey guys, which one of these is the amp? I was thinking it would be the one on top of the cd changer. I'm trying to figure out if the amp is the reason I can hear any sound.

No, the amp is underneath both. It sits vertically along the trunk wall. The wires and connections are all at the bottom so you'll need to remove the spare tire etc to see it.

No need to remove the spare just unbolt the carrier for the cd changer.

Do you have a Bose system though? If not there will not be a separate amp just an audio gateway.

I don't know if I have the Bose for sure. But I do know the speaker covers on the door have the Bose branding. but I haven't seen Bose any where else in the cabin. And when I turn on the in dash unit I see the merc logo and the distraction warning. I also noticed when I hit the eject button on the cd changer the cartridge pops out. I noticed a cd in the cartridge. But I can't use the cd changer via command. Not that I'd be able to hear the content but I should be able to at least select the inserted disc.
When I press the in dash eject I get a command nav disc. I also don't have volume control. I can't see the volume going up or down when turning the knob. Again not that I'd be able to hear it but I was thinking I'd at least be able to see the adjustments to the vol as I'm making them.
On another note, I finally ordered the seal for my tail light. Part number 2158260291in case anyone was looking for it. I pick it up for $17 on eBay. Now I just need to find a diy guide for removing the tail lamp.
You guys all rock on this forum by the way.

It only says Bose on the speaker covers and the amp...under the cd player.

But but but....the wires to the speakers in the doors are probably broken.

Is it common for the wired to break? I'm not sure about the as I'm going buy the speaker covers. But I'm pretty sure it is.

Very very common...ask me how I know.

To test the speaker connections find the connector into the amp. Then use a small battery against each twisted pair. You should here a scratching at each speaker...if you don't the wires in the door jamb are broken.

If that is the case open the concertina cover in the door jamb. You will see two looms a small one and a large one. The small one is the speaker wires...open it and locate and fix the broken wires.
