Left tail lamp fog/tail/reverse lights out.
Hi guy, so the lights in the left tail lamp seem to be going out. It's the one with the water getting in it. Earlier, I had the rear fog bulb go out. But there was another bulb there. Then that other bulb went out. The day after I was checking it out and after I moved the reverse bulb socket to check it, it too went out. So for now the left lamp has brake lights, turn/hazzards. Since I was near the mechanic I thought I'd ask his thoughts. He looked inside and told me to change the lamp before replacing the seal since it's rusting inside.
As usual, your thoughts and opinions will dictate what I do next. I do have a road trip coming up Friday night. What should I do, what are my options??

I just went thru this.
Zoom in on the black spot next to the buib hole.
I bought a new bulb and socket at the dealer. Still had the problem. Then went into the inside of the tail light. Found a dark spot on the metal, buffed with the wire wheel on the dremel grinder, added a coating of dialectic grease. Put everything back together. No warning message for the last month.
