new guy with cl500 needs help

I picked up a 99 CL500 cheap, I know this is the wrong section, but there's a lot more people in this group than the w140 group. I've done a bunch of research but still have questions. How much different is the suspension from my 99, a w140, to the next year, a w215? I started having some noise from the rear of the car, so I saw a lot of people said it was the pulsation damper. Well I got under it and looked around. I believe it's the height valve that's making the noise, because if I hit the brakes hard and the nose drops, the noise stops. When I operated the arm, if I pushed up it got loud, if I pulled down it got quiet. I bled some fluid out from the bleeder, and there was a lot of air in the oil. Is the rear only hydraulic? Because the front shocks have nothing going to them. And the tears have a hose hanging with nothing connected. Is this right? I've got some pictures to see what you guys think. The first pic is of the "height valve", the second is of the driver front, and the last is the passenger rear. You can see that hose that's zip tied up. Is that now it's supposed to be? Any help is appreciated

The W215 is 100% hydraulic and therefore 100% different to yours.

But, you probably have self levelling suspension like an E Class estate (wagon if you must).

Don't know about the noise.

The suspension is indeed completely different but I think they are both hydraulic .

Some 140s I've seen have full hydraulic... from the look of your aftermarket shocks, I would think maybe your car was converted at some point? I don't know anything about the 140s though.

That's what I was wondering. In that last pic you can see on the top left that there's a hose with a threaded end just sitting there, zip tied to hold it
