Led headlight conversion
Hey fellas i have a 02 cl600 and i hate these headlights on this model i tried changing the bulbs from 8000k to 6000k bulbs they jus dnt give that brightness I'm looking for i ordered some led 6000k bulbs from this company called Lasfit i haven't put them on yet has anybody put led's on there cl? thanks in advance

LED in the factory projector isn't gonna be very bright. Are your lights clear?
These cars are not new, the lights don't really compare to modern cars. A good HID bulb is about the best you can do.

Yes Joe they are clear i had them cleaned and polished dam i guess ima have to save up for the newer headlights smdh lol I'm going to still put them anyway jus to see what happens. You kno of anybody that put a led kit in there cl? Thanks Joe!

you’ll get more lumens with lower kelvin rating.... between 4500-5500k range. Also, not all hid bulbs are equal..... Osram xenarc are heads and shoulders over most. We can help you out if you need help. And LEDs won’t give you what you want with low beams as the housing isn’t designed to properly capture led surface mounted light spread.

Also, if that’s too rich for your blood, we also have high end Morimoto D2S bulbs at a fraction of the price ($50), and only a couple hundred less lumens.

yes, ballasts can go bad over time and fail, OEM and aftermarket. You’ll need to put a meter to it to test the power.

Hey buddy would it help if i replaced my projectors along with a clear lens and replace my ballast with a better newer ballast? I been reading different post and goin on different online stores. I appreciate your input and advice thanks in advance

Sure. Not all projectors are created equal. It's not a trivial matter though cracking those covers off as you'll need to bake them open and take care not to get the adhesive everywhere. I'd just go with the OEM ballasts as they have the same mounting points for your headlamps which makes things easier. You're not really going to gain too much going with different ballasts.

It would still be D2S as you're using a D2S connection and socket key. However, I'd highly suggest against LEDs. The lumens output by LEDs isn't a problem, but the light spread is. When you plug it in housing not designed specifically to capture LED surface mounted light spread, you end up with reduced throw distance, light scatter, and dark spots. You'll get better performance going with an HID bulb in a housing designed to capture HID focal point.

Well Michael like i mentioned i believe in earlier posts i purchased a led kit for the low beams and for the high beams my car is in the body shop getting painted so i haven't had a chance to install them it seem like from what you are saying I'm still going to be disappointed 
lol if its not to my liking I'm def gonna upgrade the projectors bulbs and ballast and see what i get. Do you kno if there is any companies out there who design new headlight lens covers for my model? Thanks in advance

I have a CL600 216 2007 . I love the car !! I bought an LED kit - Stealth HIDS4U , xenon HID.
I asked my local Mercedes garage specialist to install for me but he refused as he only installs genuine Mercedes parts .
so now it’s up to me . I am an average car mechanic and want to know if anyone can advise me how to remove the headlamps to install the new Kit?
Any ideas would be welcome
