2001 CL500 Trunk lid adjustment

Hey All,

I have a 2001 CL500 with trunk spring hinges (no auto close) and was wondering how to adjust the lid so its flush. I could take it to a local body shop but figure i would like to save a few dollars and try to adjust myself. I noticed the 2 adjusting bolts on the hinge assembly but not sure where to start to get it to lower in the drivers side corner closest to the back window. The passenger side is pretty flush but could also use some adjusting down. The drivers side is about 4cm too high. Any info would be very much appreciated. I will post a pic of the issue in a bit when i get a chance.

4cm...are you sure? That would be about 1.5 inches.

sorry not 4cm (I apparently can’t measure haha) it’s actually about 1-2cm. I have washed the car and I don’t see any water or moisture getting into the trunk. No mold smell or anything like that so it’s not popped up enough to allow moisture past the trunk seal.
