The front SAMs on both sides under the hood are on the CAN, what problems are you having exactly? Water can go strange places once it gets past the seals that normally stop it.

yep
and it can go thru the wires from one device to another also
also, you can't trust the wires as I I found once a wheel sensor from Gearbox module to right wheel sensor that when you measured was ok but when driving goes wrong
I placed a new wire from the connector to the wheel and done (before that I replaced the sensor 3 times as undetectable)

you can NEVER trust the wires if not new on this car

Water has got into the engine ECU and Sam unit that side

I get 1041 esp bas n74 fault Code

p0120 throttle code

had 3 people run star on car and say esp is a ghost code but throttle body is at fault

throttle body has been replaced twice 1 used 1 new

merc techs tried to adapted throttle body but can’t on star

I can adapted throttle body by clearing ECU by holding throttle pedal down and switching off , then un plug throttle body then plug in and let it adapted

car ran ok but with abs light on fault code for c1540 rotary sensor , was like that then main fault came back

did you open the ecu to see if corroded inside ?
did you cleanup all plugs with contact cleaner
did you verify if you don't have one pin in a plug is bend

did you hook up DAS and verify if the speed-sensors give correct speed signal to the transmission module

all this should have been done already

then, if all this is ok, you have a wiring problem
find the broken or half broken wire and replace it like me
or buy a new engine harness from MB

ECU did have corrosion inside

Cleaned up with contact cleaner

No bent pins

Speed sensor not checked , i can't get anyone back to run star on the car and well respected garage today spoke with thinks its doomed

I have a good used engine loom , is it easy to fit?

Engine has 113k on it chassis has brand new yellowspeeds

ok
I think your ecu is dead
2 things you can do
buy one from ebay and get a tech transfer the main chip from the old to the new bought
then your ECU will match to the EIS and GearBox selector and car will authorize running

or

send it to a repair service, many online

PM me for how much you sell if so, I buy
