Dyno Mode 2002 215
What is the sequence for starting the dyno mode on a 2002? It is different than the 2003's. All the MB tech's tried the 2003 method and all failed.

Make sure the odometer is displayed on the speedo cluster
Turn key to position 1
and while the SRS light is on, press the "R" button 3 times fast
if your battery voltage becomes displayed, you've entered the right menu
you can then use the steering controls to flip through the menu until you get to the esp/dyno menu
note - key needs to be in position 2 for the engine to read the oil level

Dyno mode
Thanks for the info but, sadly, this is the method for 2003 and later cars. The two 2002 cars that I tried both failed to make any notification. This afternoon I also contacted a 15 year Mercedes mechanic and he said to hold the R button for at least 4 seconds on the last of the three pushes. Still.........nothing.

My car is an early 2002 w215, this is the exact procedure I used
like I said, you need to make sure the speedometer is showing the odometer/mileage.
Any other menu like “messages”, “settings” wont work
