Exclamation AfterMarket Android radio Battery drain

Just another help file

I have been investigating battery drain on W215

Many things can do this and mostly based on some modules in the car not going to "sleep-mode"

One of the main problems is when you replace your stereo

Be sure you code out Command, telephone, tele-aid / vocal-aid and everything you don't use or void
in CGW
in AB Airbag (emergency button)
and take a look in ICM cluster if any parameters there point to removed devices

Then, under the passenger side seat, remove all the modules with optical "orange cable" on it
don't forget the cellphone device and cd charger trunk driver side

All these devices, as not connected as normal anymore because of your new stereo can stay awake or be retested every x minutes and drain your battery

good luck

good tip, haven’t heard anybody else suggest this. I’m trying to track down a plug and play Android Unit that will work with my pre facelift model, apparently it’s not as easy as finding the ones for 03+?

it is easy, but you must first find out if your radio model is MOST oir DB2
if MOST, there is NO convertor to use your amp with a aftermarket radio
do NOT TRUST the Chinese, they lie like hell and say it will work

if MOST, there is NO convertor to use your amp with a aftermarket radio !

I used a Focal amp instead with cables and lots of work

but the best would be, swap your amp to a DB2 amp first, code the new setup in Xentry
once it works buy a android with the DB2 decoder and install
