W215 2004 ABC pump noise
Hello gentlemen and scholars I have a concern with a CL500 I just bought. Previously I owned a W220 S430 so I’m a bit familiar with issues in these cars and I appreciate them so much and I just want to have this new beauty back to no mechanical flaws. I absolutely love the functionality of the Hydraulic Suspension and have no intention of cutting corners to fix it. With all this being said help with the best advice on what to attack here 🔧

the pump om my cl has sounded like that .....a bag of spanners....for the last 20,000 miles, I keep thinking it must be on its way out but im now at 315000 miles and my third pump on this 2000 year cl

Replace the pump and make sure the system is clean. You should consider converting the car to coils and putting a W220 no-abc power steering pump in it. Changing the tandem pump and all the service to go with it will be 1500 bucks at least.
