2004 Mercedes cl500
2004 cl500

Hi I’m looking at purchasing a 2004 cl500 . Has the abc suspension, the owner told me when it sits maybe a few hours or def overnight the rear lowers itself not the front . When he starts the car it levels itself back and no problems after that and when driving . He said the power steering pump was changed oil changed and the front 2 actuators were changed but not the rear. What do tou think the problem is and what poss it might cost ? Thank you

You're leaking fluid somewhere. Either some valves are stuck, or it's blown a line or a seal somewhere.

Do yourself a favor, and unless you're just in love with the ABC system, delete it all with a Ceika kit (or strutmasters, I guess..) and call it a day.
If you are in love with the ABC, ask yourself if it's worth thousands of dollars worth of maintenance. If it is, then get after it. And buy a STAR.

Valve block at the rear is leaking. Not a difficult fix nowadays, they can be rebuilt with new o seals. It is something that will need done...but not immediately. Use it as a bargaining point.

You can get a kit to reseal a valve block for not much money from ebay. The book time to remove a valve block is about 1-1/2 hours, and the time to replace the seals is perhaps 15 minutes. I've never done this job, but a friend of mine has done it twice and states that it really isn't difficult at all.

Also, you needn't do anything at all. I have an S55 that drops an inch or two overnight, and it really doesn't bother me that much. I've already got a seal kit on hand for a rebuild in case the dropping issue gets considerably worse.
