I've got some questions regarding the oil cooler leak.
How noticable is the problem? I can't find oil splashes in and around the engine, but the catalytic converter sensor is a bit moist.
Lately the MFD told me to fill up the oil by 1L when I ran the oil level test, so I'm not sure if that's related to the oil cooler leak or not. The car has driven around 193k km so I'm having some faith (no (paper) evidence though, I think) that the previous owner might have replaced the cooler/seal.
If you have a hint to check if it has been replaced without taking the engine apart let me know!
The autohausaz page tells me it will fit inside a 2001 Mercedes-Benz CL 600, which I think still uses the M137 engine.
Comparing it with the image below, I think it should fit. The oil cooler's bottom (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...880501#fitment)
That is the lower gasket that is outside the cooler. If you buy a new cooler it should come with one. The leak occurs with the "o-ring" gasket inside the unit, that is not sold anywhere so you have to get a whole new cooler from what I see.
Getting a CL600 with this problem so I have been doing my research on it too.
