Do you all know that CL600 is limited to 130mph - 210kmh?

Yes, all Mercedes are limited to 130MPH other than AMG models which have the limiter set to 155MPH.

Maybe in US only.
But it's still strange for me. I didn't know that.
In Europe each MB model is limited to 250kmh/155mph -not only AMG.
Even 500 [an lower] models.

All MBs are limited to 130 mph (AMG 150 mph) in USA.
It's easy to delimit the car using Renntech ECU.

you don't need renntech to remove the limit.
I can be done by someone who knows what he/she is doing.

That's the key word:"someone who knows what he is doing."
Using established tuner to do it is safer and easier.(and still very reasonable, considering what you have to pay for a new Benz)

Cool

There is no need for new chip to have speed limiter changed. I know this from good source.

Limp mode

2003 CL 600 goes into limp mode if I press the accelerator totally to the floor--It hits the speed limiter at 130 easily with the accelerator pressed partially to the floor--So, what is going on???and other than Renntech, who can tune my car for much cheaper AND bump my speed limiter to about 200mph?? I want to keep everything pretty much stock?

I'm guessing around the 170mph mark.

Probably close to 200 MPH. Renntech limits their 600 ECU tune to 187 mph.

That's with a Renntech tune. He's asking about a stock car with the speed limiter removed. A stock CL600 does not have enough power to hit 200mph.

True but I'd guess closer to 180 MPH. It still has 500 hp stock.

I can say that my 01 CL600 has seen 153mph, and I've never had it tuned. Once it hit 150mph, the limiter was like "ease down, fella..."

The Bently Continental GT does about 200 mph with similar power.

V12TT's run the risk of running into the red-line, though. They're all tragically under-geared.

33.9 mph/1000rpm x 5800 rpm = 196 mph

Correction: its actually 35.6 mph/krpm

My bad, its difficult information to find out for sure.

Still undergeared, though, ought to be more like 40mph/k.

my 04 cl600 stock (without the speedlimiter and 320km/h speedometer) runs 320 km/h smooth - but not checked with GPS, just shown on the speedo.

after ECU / TCU from MKB (now 604hp / 1000NM torque) the car runs 338 km/h, checked with GPS from MKB (the M of MKB is the same M of AMG - Erhard Melcher, the other founder together with HWA).

these guys really know what you need for your 600 TT. they also had a 1000hp M275 in SL, S, CL. a fantastic ride. the fastest car after the CLK GTR supersport i ever had driven.
