Engine Shutdown

Hi all.First of all I want apologize for my English ,I'm from Poland

Recently I bought lovely Mercedes CL500 from 2003. First month I was a happy owner ,than problems started...
I was sorting out few thing around my city ,driving my car to few places. After coming back to car from shop i couldn't star a car ,turning but no start (no errors or dashboard lights). After few tries i give up and call for car assistance.
While I was waiting for tow I tried again and car started. While I was driving home ,car just shut off suddenly ,I mean no power at all ,all the lights on dashboard went blank ,car just died. I pulled over and call for assistance again.
I brought car back home. It started immediately ,but it run only for few minutes and shutdown ,dashboard on ,just like turning ignition off (no errors). First I tough it was a battery ,so I bought a new one ,but it didn't change anything.
Car is running for few minutes and it's switching off ,but now I have "check engine" icon on dashboard. I didn't had a chance to check the error codes yet ,but maybe someone had case like me...
Thanks in advance ,Peter

Welcome piotrask.

The M113 engines have a lot trouble with the crank shaft position sensors. When hot the engine shuts off, after cooling down it starts again.
This is the first part to replace if you have this issue.

Hi. Thanks for a quick answer. This sensor make sense, but would it completely cut electrics off from a car (happened only once while driving)? Any idea where I can locate this sensor? Thanks

Thanks v8mercedes ,you were right ,I get code P0335 (CKP Sensor fault). I’ve locate it and took it out. The weird think is that there are some scratches on metal top of it ,is that normal? Thanks for help

You' re welcome.
Glad to hear your engine runs well now.

The scratches are harmless.
