Catalytic converters

Hopefully this is the right sub forum. I am purchasing an 04 cl55 in the next few days and am coming from the srt6 crossfire platform which I know is basically the same everything minus 2 cylinders. On my crossfire I know that I had 4 cats. A front set up near the manifolds and then a rear set further down the exhaust. I’m wondering if this car is the same with 2 sets or if it only has one?

This place is a joke.
A CL55 has no relation to the Crossfire which is built on the SLK platform. A 2004 CL will be a nightmare ownership of repairs starting with, and never ending with, the ABC suspension.

i am aware of the abc and electrical issues. But considering the engine is a m112k which is the exact same minus 2 cylinders I would say you’re not correct about having “no relation”

The CL55 has either a m113 or m113k engine.

im aware. You said the cl55 has no relation to the crossfire srt6. One has the m113k the other has the m112k. They are the exact same engine with a difference of 2 cylinders so my question about the catalytic converters is pretty fair in my opinion...

Incorrect maintenance is the root cause of ABC failing

Any hydraulic system needs to be properly maintained. 11/10 times, the ABC suspension is neglected and issues start to appear shortly after.
So to prevent issues with ABC, perform maintenance. Dealerships did not perform the required maintenance on these systems, thus not everything is listed in WIS.
You'll have to do a little research online, but everything is there and the community is great!
