I know some of you will think I'm crazy, I have the 2006 CL500 with AMG body with stock AMG 245/45ZR18 Front and 265/40ZR18 Rear rims and tires. I'm thinking of going to 17 x7.5 Rims with 225/55ZR17 on all four to be more efficient and get a more touring/cruising better milleage feel on the car instead of high performance with the Pilot sport tires. Also to conserve on the cost of tires over the next 10-20 years. Is there any technical issues that can come up with the change of rims and tires to the car ECU, ABS, TCU, or other system? The offset is almost the same at 48mm, about 2mm more in the front.
Please hold back the comments on the design and look of the car. I get that and I realize I'm taking away from the sporty look of the AMG design. Appreciate any technical input.
