Hello, so I am in the market for an aftermarket steering wheel for my 2002 CL55 AMG, would anyone know the compatibility if there would be issues if I put a newer wheel inside it?
Is a canbus decoder needed?
Will I still have steering wheel button functions?
Picture is attached of the wheel I want to put in. The 2002 CL55 does not have paddle shifters but can be removed. Mainly just want to know if the buttons can work without any issues.

with enough money maybe.
Will probably need to update your steering column, so some coding and wiring
plus get a wheel with airbag and decode and then modify the wheel itself
"rand_ash" on youtube has done this on an e55 amg, I believe. Probably a pain in the neck, unless someone has a ready-made adapter or explicit DIY guide for that specific steering wheel... and that's assuming the wheel "just fits." Probably better to just buy one of those random custom w215 steering wheels off ebay.

e55 is much easier to retrofit to than a 2002 cl55
