Hey Folks, I'm seriously interested in an 01 CL600. This one has 61,000 miles on it, and starmark warrantied for another 6 months. The fellow will take 27,000 for it, what do you think? It's black w/ cashmere interior. How much can I expect to spend on maintenance/repairs when the car is out of warranty? Will 3k a year budgeted cover it?

What he meant to say is that a 2001 CL is not a W216. It's a 215. So you'll get much more useful responses there in the W215 section.

Thanks Eddie, I posted it in the other section. It does sound like a nice one, but I just got a very negative response to owning one of these out of warranty.

 

Yes, for what it's worth, I am actively in the market right now for another car (another 124 in my case) so I've been browsing a ton of Mercedes ads. It seems that in general V12s out of warranty, or soon to be out of warranty, are selling for the same or less than V8s of the same year/type. Presumably because of the heavy maintenance costs. Especially CLs with the expensive ABC suspension.

Of course, ABC is great, I have it in my car. But I doubt I will keep it after my (extended) warranty is up in 2014.
