CL 215 wins

I just looked at a new 216 up close for the first time in person and I have to say the old CL 215s are just better looking than the new CL216. I think we will see a rise in the prices of the W215 in the future.

Smile w215 I like as well

I also agree, I believe that the w215 2000-2006 body style wins hands down. The new one has been growing on me a bit, but still old body style is the ticket. Has anyone heard of any recalls or problems with the w216 yet?

If the C216 is anything like the new S on which it is based, there won't be any problems, unlike the C215.

The C216 had the lowest Problems per 100 (PP100) vehicles of any car in the most recent JDP IQS survey. Since the sample size was quite low (low volume car), it was considered not enough to be used for comparison to other cars. However, the car with the next lowest PP100 was the new 221 S-Class. Therefore, I would surmise the C216 is quite good in terms of quality.

Actually it is a great investment tip. You can get the 215 at basement bargain prices now.
I agree with others about the improvements on the 216 as I own a S class 221. Absolutely flawless with 13K miles. Although the outgoing models have a serious quality issue problem, I owned a 2000 S500, 2002 CL500 and for a short time a 2006 CL500 (which I wish I had kept) and not one problem occured with any of them.

I have run the gamut of problem laden Mercedes products from the now infamous 2000 S430 (production date 3/30/99) to my current C216, which has been absolutely flawless. Not only has the new CL been problem free, but there is a feeling that it will remain infinitely less problematic than any Mercedes I have owned in recent memory. I think Mercedes has successfully turned the corner on the poor build quality issues.

I agree, but this new C-Class will really be the test. It will sell to great deal more people and probably be abused much more. Yeah the 2000 S-Class was the worst, along with the 98' ML and CLK. The 2001 and 2003 C and Es weren't that good either.
