Upsizing wheels
Can anyone advice me on what the current offest is (ET)?
Is it 43 or 34?
I am looking for a non staggered set up for 20inch wheels so i guess 255 is the max?
Can the car take 22 inch wheels, any rubbing?
Any advice is much appreciated
This indicates ET 43 for all wheels offered, and recommends 255 for 8.5 front wheels. In the rear they allow 275 on 9.5.
IMHO 22s look comical and cartoonish on a W216 CL, but judge for yourself: https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-cl65-amg-cl63-amg-c215-c216/220744-new-pics-shoes-calipers-tint-lowering.html
The AMG Style IV 20s used on the CL65 and CL63 030 package are IMO some of the best looking wheels anywhere and particularly well suited to the W216. I'm putting these on my CL600 which arrives at the dock next week. Some board members have disparaged letting the world see one's smaller non-AMG brakes through more open wheels, but I figure that if it bothers me I'll just go to RENNtech.
Would appreciate hearing from other board members:
1) tire recommendations - I'm thinking PZeros, as wet weather performance is important to me;
2) if anyone is interested in buying the unused stock take-offs from my CL600.
I have a 2000 cl500 sitting on 20in tsw 5 spoke with 8.5 245/40/20 front and 10in 295/30/20 back. The back are really wide and look meaty but I get slight rub when hitting bump or dip under hard cornering. But for the most no problem. After this set of tires wear out I will go to 275/30/20 on the back and that should cure it. Mean while the patch these tires lay is impressive.
245/35/20 front and 285/30/20 are within 1 rev per mile and with proper offset will clear all metal work.

always a good idea to check plus size rims and tire combos
both of the above tire choices come within 1/100 of an inch of the oem diameter tire.
at present your front tire is almost 3/4 of an inch taller than the rear.
OP 22's will look as ricey as it sounds
and ride like one also.
and 9.5 275 or 285 30's in rear
with a 20, the proper aspect size is really a 30 in front, and a 25 in rear..
that said if you do go with 20's you can get away with the 30's in the rear,
but it will make your speedo, and electronics slightly off
but its a more confortable ride...and the tire fills the wheel well more

Here is a CL55 we did a while ago. It is on 20x9 and 20x10 Zone 1 wheels. For tires, it has 245/35/20 and 275/30/20.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or if you would like any information regarding any products...
